When we talk about protein, the conversation usually starts with grams. But there's another question worth asking: where did those grams come from?
Food production requires land, water and energy, and different sources of protein place very different demands on those resources.
That's one reason plant proteins are becoming an increasingly important part of conversations about the future of food.
This isn't about finding a perfect ingredient. It's about gradually building a food system capable of nourishing more people while asking less of the planet.
Protein can be good for us and make sense for the world around us. We don't think those things should have to compete.
